THE MOST SIGNIFICANT THING I OWN

hello everyone.

the other day a friend and i got into a discusion about what is the most significant thing (to us) that we own.

he said his computer.

i would say this penny is mine.

i found this laying in the dirt in a field about 3 year ago.
i picked it up thinking it was just another penny.
but then i cleaned it up and i saw ow old it was (1887)

think about that for a moment. the coin is 126 year old.
in the time that this coin has been around.


1. 23 presidents have been elected and served our country

2. we've gone into 2 world wars.

3. we've lost over 1,000,000 people in the united states to AIDs and HIV

4. the soviet union was built up, operated, and then came crashing down.

5. 3 separate major stock market collapses (great depression, .com, and current)

6. we started looking at a man's ideas instead of his looks.

7. we gave women the right to vote.

8. some of the greatest works of art have been created. (some of the posted right here on DA)

9. the internet was thought up, built, and is still growing

10. more than 30 nations broke away from their empires and were created.

11. we lived through the 20s, 30s, 40s, 50s, 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s, 2000s, 2010s.
